Hi I’m Hannah, and I am based in Banbury Oxfordshire at a small friendly eventing and competition yard. I currently compete 2 horses; F.B is competing at BE100, owned by Sally Taylor. He is now back into his second year eventing after having been retired in the field for 5 years and he definitely hasn’t lost the eventing bug! He is 17 years old and has been a fantastic horse to compete and has taught me a lot and we have had many successes. My newest addition is Willow who I’m competing at BE Novice I’m still learning to find the right buttons to press but we are definitely getting there, and I’m looking forward to seeing our partnership develop.

How old were you when you started riding?I was around 6 when I started riding down at our local riding school back home in Worcestershire every Saturday, it was a lot of fun especially the Gymkhana games. I was around 13 when I started riding competitively at Show jumping and Hunter Trials.

What was the name of the first horse you ever rode? The first horse I ever rode was actually my grans donkey Bruno, his favourite game was to pull away from my gran holding the rope and start bucking. Luckily I never hurt myself and found it fun.

Who has been your inspiration?I am inspired by many people, from all disciplines but Scott Brash and Ben Maher I think are amazing how they make show jumping look so effortless and easy I’m still trying to resemble their rounds!

When was the last time you fell off?I last fell off at my first 1* at Brand Hall this May, unfortunately we left a leg at a very upright skinny which resulted in me falling out the side door after great efforts to stay on. Luckily he never fell and carried on!

What is the one horsey item you could not live without?Full seat breeches

What is the best piece of advice you have been given by a fellow horseman/woman?You can’t control the past and you can’t control the future, but you can control the present day and what’s going on right here and now.

If you could ride any horse in the world, who would it be?Totilas- wow what a horse

Black or brown tack? I seem to be riding in both at the moment but I would have to say Brown.

If you could ride at any venue in the world, where would it be? I have wanted to ride at Hartpury International Horse trials ever since I can remember, that was my aim this year but unfortunately had to re-route. Next year is the year! Obviously Badminton is the ultimate dream.

Do you have any horsey superstitions, (odd socks, at competitions etc)? Not really, I’ve stopped being superstitious as there are too many superstitions to worry about!
